DESCRIPTION: Lustrous, dark green, leaf spot resistant foliage and creamy-white, exfoliating bark that ages to cinnamon brown. Makes a beautiful specimen, particularly stunning in the multi-stemmed form where the bark can take center stage. As the name implies, holds up well in heat. Requires full sun and moist, somewhat acidic soil. Reported to have good resistance to bronze birch borer. Introduced by Tree Introductions.
