DESCRIPTION: A plant introduced from the Mt. Cuba Center for the Study of Piedmont Flora, in Delaware. This plant has a more dwarf habit and chocolate-purple tones to the leaves and stems. Reaches a mature height of 3.5-4' and spread of 3'. Blooms in late summer with white flowers which can be used for cutting, although this Joe-Pye should be used almost exclusively for its colored foliage rather than blooms.
