White flowers in late June. Fruits, blue to black, in large clusters. Excellent for pies, jam and elderberry wine. Hardy native plant. Use in background and wildlife plantings. A clone of S. canadensis selected for its large fruit by William W. Adams of Union Springs, NY. Fruit set is normally improved when more than one cultivar is used, such as York.
